EXTERNAL FBE COATING ON COUPLER

Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coating shall be applied to both the internal diameter (ID) and external diameter (OD) of the dismantling joint to ensure long-term corrosion protection in buried or exposed service conditions. All joint components shall be grit blasted to the specified surface cleanliness and anchor profile prior to coating. The FBE coating shall be electrostatically applied and heat cured to achieve a uniform, defect-free layer of the specified thickness over all wetted and external surfaces, including flanges, edges, and transition areas, while maintaining proper masking of sealing and mating surfaces to ensure joint performance during installation and operation.
